I didn’t write goals this year. Instead, I wrote a list of things that are in in 2025, and things that can be left behind in 2024. Some apply to me, some don’t; these are more of a collective movement towards a new way of being. If you disagree with any of these to the point of being offended, please see item 1 on the list of What Can Be Left In 2024.
In the past, the new year was a time of hope, optimism, new intentions, and goal setting. It always felt like the new year would be a good one, and we would accomplish everything we intended to do. I would set out on Jan 1 with a clear plan, a well-designed schedule, and determination to accomplish everything I set out to do.
I didn’t feel that this time around. Instead, I felt a collective nervous approach, like a child dipping his foot in the pool to test the temperature before jumping in. It felt like we wanted to leave 2024, but were not yet sure if 2025 is the vibe either.
We’ve been burned in the past. New Year’s resolutions petered out within weeks. Goals unmet. Dreams still on the back burner. The excitement of new beginnings has waned from years of underwhelming results.
So, instead, here is 59 things that can be left in 2024 and what is in in 2025:

Please add to this list in the comments below. It will be ever-evolving; Travis Kelce may grow on me, who knows. Not likely, but never say never. We wish him the best anyway, though.
On a serious note, 2025 will be more about feeling than planning. We’ve all heard the quote, “Life is what happens when you’re busy making plans,” which couldn’t be more accurate. So this year, I’m not making plans or setting goals but intend to follow what feels alive inside of me. Bringing more of the “in’s” into my days and letting go of the “out’s” as much as I can. Stress less, smile more.
Onwards and Upwards we go!
